Stalking: From the Shadows to Sun

Anna Nasset will present her own experience as a victim of stalking for the last 8 years. Through the years Anna has worked with nearly 100 service providers and community members, has successfully experienced prosecution and is currently still a victim of stalking.

This incredibly unique and nuanced case study allows service providers and community members to hear first hand how victims navigate the world, the legal system and begin to build a new life.  They will also learn best practices when working with victims of crime.

Awareness on Military Bases
During this presentation Anna brings her energetic spirit to the stage to discuss the important topics of stalking and sexual assault. She share pieces of her own story and experiences to highlight on the seriousness of these crimes and the resources that are available to victims of crime both on base and off.

She leads the attendees through exercises and conversations and that look deeper into consent and appropriate behavior (especially around stalking) in order for all to look at their behavior.  She will educate military members as to how to be a bystander and assist fellow soldiers who have been sexually assaulted or who are being stalked.

Military members will walk away with having listened to first hand testimony as to the toll these crimes take on a person in every possible way.  They will also walk away with a tool kit of resources to use for themselves or to help other soldiers and civilians.

Empathy and Empowerment Working with Victims

Anna Nasset speaks about the importance of empathy and empowerment of victims as they walk through the criminal justice process.  She shares from her own experience working with countless service providers over the years and how their positive impact has shifted her experience from living in the shadows to proudly standing up and speaking out.  Attendees will leave with tools and awareness on how to connect and better work with all victims of crime.  This training is an encouragement to service providers to treat all victims of crime with empathy, belief and empowerment.

Victims of Crime in the Work Place

There are victims of crime everywhere, often in the same office as you, and much of the time co-workers and employers don’t know.  With respect to victims privacy we will look at the larger picture of how trauma effects employees.

This session looks deeper into being in the work force while dealing with the effects of being a victim of crime. We will brainstorm appropriate practices, identify warnings signs, and hear directly from Anna’s own experience navigating the world of work while being an on-going victim of crime.

Employers and employees will leave with a tool kit of appropriate practices and a a better awareness of victims of crime.
